About
Annie Fain is native to the crafts/music/dance community of Brasstown, North Carolina, home of the John C. Campbell Folk School. She is a painter & book maker / Southern Highland Craft Guild member / banjo-accordion-uke player / instructor of American & European traditional dance / speaker of French / mother of two. She has lived and studied in Asheville/NC, Edinburgh/Scotland, Brønderslev/Denmark and Désaignes/France.

Annie Fain interviews painters and gardeners, designers and musicians, photoraphers and cooks, creative livers of any kind, who have some how, in the middle of it all, continued on their creative paths no matter what.
Music & Dance
Annie Fain grew up in and married into families of traditional musicians and dancers. She now teaches and performs both regionally and in France. She has played both Appalachian old-time and traditional French tunes in various combos: Lucky Boy (Jamie Herrmann & Jessica Johnson), The Liden Family Band (David Liden, Martha Owen, Lindsey Liden, Emolyn Liden & Géraud Barralon) / Blue Eyed Girl (Pearl Shirley, Laurel Willoughby, Ellie Grace) / Accompanist to Géraud Barralon / Ida Red Trio (Polo Bulguière, Nadine Marianelli & Géraud Barralon) / Bal Itinérant Band (Paco Medina, Thibaut Preciat, Polo Bulguière, Nadine Marianelli & Géraud Barralon . She has danced with Rural Felicity Garland Dancers, Loafer’s Glory Clog Morris, Green Grass Cloggers and Dames Rocket Northwest Morris.
